What does the Bible say about baptism in immersion of water?

The word "baptize" is translated from the original Greek word "baptizo", which means "to immerse".

Matthew 3:16 (NIV)
"As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water"

Acts 8:38 (NIV)
"Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him."

Colossians 2:12 (NIV)
"..having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him through your faith in the power of God."
